PURPOSE: A method for diagnosing a channel of a unmanned base station in a code division multiple access(CDMA), is provided to diagnose a modem assigning a channel for itself, in a system operation initialization and operating, in a channel card of the base station, and to reduce improve a call finish ratio. CONSTITUTION: A method for diagnosing a channel of a unmanned base station in a code division multiple access(CDMA), contains steps. The first step is to initialize a modem, and to decide whether a read/write function of all modem and a synchronization character of an external clock are normal. The second step is to communicate the modem, and to register an error ratio of an operation channel and a channel operation state such as a call state, on an internal database. The third step is to identify information registered on the database, and to decide whether the channel operation state is normal. The fourth step is to return to the second step if the channel operation state is normal, and to stop a channel assign of the modem, by informing a base station controller of a abnormal channel modem, if is not. The fifth step is to decide whether modulation/demodulation function of the modem is normal. The sixth step is to return to the second step if the modulation/demodulation function is normal, and to end if not.
