PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent drop-out of image information at document reading due to gap between sensor chips. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a sensor substrate 12, where plural sensor chips 11 which have plural photoelectric transducers outputting the image signals corresponding to an image and read the image of a prescribed length to output the image signals corresponding to this are arranged on a line, a measuring means which measures gap information between plural sensor chips 11, and interpolation means 15 and 16 which interpolate image signals between sensor chips based on image signals outputted from photoelectric transducers and gap information measured by the measuring means.
