PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a higher-harmonic suppressor for private-power generating systems which is highly reliable and small-sized without using any capacitor. SOLUTION: In the configuration of a private-power generating system tied to a power system which feeds by its generator an effective or reactive power to a higher-harmonic generating load 10, there is provided a double-winding reactor 16 having primary and secondary windings to one phase wherein one end of its secondary winding is connected with the higher-harmonic generating load 10, and one end of its primary winding is connected with general loads. Further, the other ends of its primary and secondary windings are connected together with the armature terminal of the generator of the private-power generating system. As a result, even though using no capacitor having a short life time, all orders of higher-harmonics generated from the higher-harmonic generating load 10 can be suppressed from flowing out to the power system to give large effects to the miniaturization and improved reliability of a higher- harmonic suppressor.
