PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and surely enable the process to obtain parallelism by reducing change of DC resistance of each monitor element at the time of setting the DC resistance values of monitor elements to the equal value, namely obtaining the parallelism. SOLUTION: A multi-layer film 31 of a monitor element 22 is formed of a first region 31b formed in the track width Tw and a second region 31c formed in the width size T1 larger than the track width Tw. The tip of the multi-layer film 31 is extended in the direction of processing surface than the end part of the multi-layer film 29 of the magneto-resistive element 21. Thereby, the cross-sectional area of the multi-layer film 31 becomes large and it becomes easier to set the DC resistance value of the monitor element 22 to equal value.
