The invention relates to an in-line roller skate with a plurality of operably supported wheels (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) which are aligned in the direction of movement. Said roller skate further comprises a brake (14) allocated to the penultimate and/or the last wheel (4, 5). Said brake (14) acts upon a wheel hub (12) carrying the respective wheel (4 or 5) and can be impinged upon by a load which is perpendicular to the wheel hub (12). Alternatively, the brake (12) is mounted on a pivotable shaft (116) of an in-line roller skate (54) and acts upon at least one wheel hub (12) carrying the last wheel (4) via a brake rod assembly when the shaft (116) is pivoted to the rear.
