PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information display device and a displaying method in which full color display elements can be diverted to monochromatic display element. SOLUTION: Information is displayed with a monochrome by simultaneously driving the same pixels in three display layers 11B, 11G, 11R of a full color liquid crystal display element 10 in which display layers 11B, 11G, 11R holding liquid crystal 16 between transparent substrates 12 and respectively developing R, G and B are laminated. By adopting monochromatic display, elements for full color display can be diverted and cost reduction can be attained. That is, need of newly manufacturing the element for monochromic display is eliminated. In particular, even full color display elements of defective in color balance or the like can be sufficiently used for monochromatic display by adjusting voltage applied to respective element layers and thereby yield of manufacturing element is improved and cost is greatly reduced.
