PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for efficiently designing mechanism and a recording medium recording mechanism design program capable of reducing the number of times of back of simulation and design due to an analytic model consistent from conceptional design to detailed design. SOLUTION: This method has a shape input process S1 for inputting the shape of a mechanism component to be used for a mechanism simulation, mechanism model definition process S2 for defining the condition of a mechanism, derivative model generation process S3 for generating a kinematic model or dynamic model from the defined mechanism model, mechanism analytic calculation process S4 for calculating the action of the mechanism corresponding to the kinematic model or dynamic model, component interference calculation process S5 for calculating the interference between mechanism components, and analyzed result display process S6 for displaying the calculated result.
