BINDER COMPOSITION FOR LITHIUM ION SECONDARY BATTERY AND ITS USE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative electrode binder for an alkaline secondary battery for manufacturing an electrode that can provide a battery excellent in a charging-discharging characteristic even after high-temperature storage. SOLUTION: This binder composition for a lithium ion secondary battery comprises water and polymer particles which have a structural unit (a) derived from an ethylenic unsaturated carboxylic acid ester monomer and a structural unit (b) derived from an ethylenic unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer and in which the ratio of the structural unit (a) to the structural unit (b) is 99-60/1-40 (weight ratio) and the sum of the structural unit (a) and the structural unit (b) is 80 wt.% or more with respect to all the units.
