摘要 PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of a system, to facilitate operation and to make it possible to detect saccharides in high sensitivity with excellent reproducibility by using a rhodium electrode as a working electrode. CONSTITUTION:A working electrode of rhodium 1 is embedded in an insulator block 2 comprising electrically inactive fluorine-based resin and the like. An auxiliary electrode block 3 made of, e.g. stainless steel, is arranged so as to face the block 2. An inlet tube 4 and an outlet tube 3 for solution are mounted on the auxiliary electrode block 3. The tube 5 is guided to a reference electrode component 7 holding a reference electrode 6 comprising, e.g. silver, silver chloride or the like. The rhodium of the working electrode 1 acts as catalyst for accelerating the oxidizing reaction of saccharides in alkali solution. When the oxidizing current is measured, the saccharides are detected in high sensitivity with excellent reproducibility. This detector is used in flow injection analysis, capillary electrophoresis analysis and the like in addition to high-speed liquid chromatography.
