VEHICULAR STEERING CONTROL SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To turn a vehicle even upon a failure or the like in a drive means and the like of a steering system. SOLUTION: The vehicular steering control system includes a steering torque sensor 30 for detecting the steering torque of a steering wheel, and an actuator 18 for assisting steering motion of dirigible wheels 24 depending on the steering torque the steering torque sensor 30 detects. A power steering computer 28 detects any abnormal state of the actuator 18, and a braking force difference applying means applies such a braking force difference as depends upon the steering torque the steering torque sensor 30 detects to the brakes of both right and left wheels 24 when an abnormality is detected.
