PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the connection pin of a chain for carrying articles stably with small power on the curve by mitigating local stress concentration of a chain link and preventing the breakage of the chain link. SOLUTION: A chain 10 comprises a chain link 12 and a connection pin 14. The chain link 12 has a pin hole 18 and a bush hole 20 in forward and rear ends, respectively, and both ends of the connection pin 14 inserted in the bush hole 20 are fitted to a pair of pin holes 18, 18. The connection pin 14 is of circular section, and has a center cylindrical surface 26 and a pair of clearance surfaces 28, 28 which are contracted from both sides. The radius of curvature of the center cylindrical surface 26 is substantially same as that of a bush hole traction surface 22. The clearance surfaces 28 are continuous to the center cylindrical surface 26, and formed smooth. The clearance surfaces 28 are of arc-like surface tangentially continuous to the center cylindrical surface 26 when the connection pin 14 is viewed in the axial section.
