PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-performance tow prepreg suitable for molding such as the filament winding method and the automatic fiber placement method, and to provide a method for producing it. SOLUTION: This prepreg is obtd. by impregnating a bundle of reinforced continuous fibers with a hot melt thermosetting resin, and has an air content of 3% or less. This tow prepreg is produced by quantitatively supplying a defoaming-treated hot melt thermosetting resin to one of the surfaces of a flat bundle 2 of reinforced fibers to make it contact and adhere to the bundle, and then by impregnating the bundle with the resin through noncontact heating and through moving the filaments sideways, followed by cooling.
