PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a display unit that can display as accurately as indicated in a desired layout drawing and easily and without requiring any special skills. SOLUTION: A layout drawing consisting of characters, figures, symbols and the like to be indicated on a display screen of a display unit is compiled using a personal computer 1, and the layout data are stored in a memory device 2 of a file server and the like. And then the layout data are input into a cutting plotter 3 and a ruling plotter 4, respectively from the memory device 2. The cutting plotter 3 cuts out characters, figures, symbols and the like to be pasted on the display from display materials based on the layout data. The ruling plotter 4 rules the shapes of characters, figures, symbols and the like on the display based on the layout data. The cut out characters, figures, symbols and the like are pasted to fit to the ruled lines written on the display.
