PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to cut sheet glass without the generation of cutting scrap by holding the sheet glass scored with cutting lines by means of holding means, then elevating the holding means to a prescribed extent. SOLUTION: The glass blank sheet 18 in a processing line 10 is first transported by transporting devices 20, 20,... to a dead removing stage 12 where the beads sticking to the surface are removed by brushes, or the like. The glass blank sheet is then transported to a cutting stage 14 where the cutting lines are scored on its surface by a cutting device 22 and thereafter the glass blank sheet is cut to small glass blank sheets 18A and 18A of a prescribed size. The cutters score the cutting lines on the glass blank sheet 18 by the actuation of an X-direction moving carriage 40 and a Y-direction carriage 42. Suction pads 64 exclusively used for folding are positioned onto the cutting lines and are risen. The cut glass blank sheets 18A and 18A of the small size the held by pads 26, 26,..., 26', 26',... for transportation and are thereafter ejected onto a cradle 28 of an unloading stage 16 by the transporting action of the cutting device 22.
