PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To treat the subject syndrome by administering a relevant patient with an effective amount of a substance causing a signaling through binding to a human growth hormone (hGH) receptor or substance stimulating the release or enhancing the activity of a endogenous hGH. SOLUTION: An HIV-associated dismorphlia/dysmetabolic syndrome(HADDS) is treated by administering a relevant patient with a necessary effective amount of a substance causing a signaling through binding to a human growth hormone (hGH) receptor or substance stimulating the release or enhancing the activity of a endogenous hGH; wherein the above substance is e.g. (A) a naturally produced human growth hormone, (B) the above fragment A having agonistic activity on a hGH receptor, (C) a variant of the above fragment A or B having >=70% sequence identity with the above fragment A or B and having agonistic activity on a hGH receptor. The daily dose of the above substance is typically about 0.01 - about 0.1 mg/kg body weight.
