<p>The present invention relates to protease assays. More particularly, this invention relates to compounds and methods useful for assaying for protease activity. The invention relates to targeted, efficient and high-throughput screens to identify small molecules compounds, peptides, etc. that modulate, i.e, interfere with or enhance, protease activity. The invention encompasses a variety of in vivo and in vitro assays. The invention further encompasses therapeutic compounds, such as antivirals, identified using the screening methods.</p> |
