The distal end of a light guide is arranged inside an inflatable balloon (4) with an elastic cover. The light that is coupled out of the light guide, as well as the light that is reflected from the object under examination to a detector passes through the cover of the balloon. The cover of the balloon has transparent sections for light entry and exit. The cover is made of latex material.
