The folding clothes hanger has two folding parts (1) which flap in and out on a movable middle part (2). The middle part locks by means of a sprung arm (6) which has a detent (7) fitting into a corresponding cavity (8) in the base plate (3) when the hanger's arms are folded out. The two arms are pivot mounted on the base plate by means of spaced apart pivot axles (5). The free end of the sprung arm has an operating section (6a). The end of the hanger-arms pointing towards the middle part have teeth (1c) engaging with teeth (2a) on the facing sides of the middle part. The middle part has an elongated hole (9) in which a pin is guided (10) on the base plate. The end (2b) of the middle part protruding above the base plate has a hook (4).
