PURPOSE: A method for voice mail service in the mobile telecommunication system is provided to listen to a voice message conveniently according to the voice mail service. CONSTITUTION: If a new voice message is stored in a voice mailing box of a VMS(Voice Mail Service) apparatus(300), the VMS apparatus pages a mobile telephone registered in the voice mailing box service storing the voice message through a mobile switching center(302). It is checked whether the mobile telephone is responding to the paging(304). If the mobile telephone is not responding to the paging, the step 302 is performed again(306). If the mobile telephone is responding to the paging, the VMS apparatus transmits the voice data of the voice message stored in the voice mailing box(308), and is returned to a usual processing routine(310).
