PURPOSE: An apparatus for compensating white balance of camcorder is provided to compensate the white balance using color signal data and color difference signal data. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for compensating white balance of camcorder includes a CCD(charge coupled device)(300), a color signal separator(320), a color signal matrix(330), and a controller(340). The CCD(300) converts an image of an object taken by the camcorder into electrical signals and outputs the result of double correlation sampling. The color signal separator(320) separates color signals form the double correlated sampled image signal of the object. The color signal matrix(330) generates color difference signals between the separated color signal from the color signal separator and R,B gains input from outside. The controller(340) controls the R,B gains according to temperature and brightness of the color difference signal data and temperature of the temperature of the color signal data separated in the color signal separator.
