METHOD FOR RECORDING AND DETECTING RECORDING DIGITAL DATA STREAM

PURPOSE: A method for recording and detecting a recording digital data stream is provided to reduce detecting time while maintaining a time map information into a certain size while recording the digital data stream in a recording medium. CONSTITUTION: A received digital data stream is stored in a recording medium by separating into an SOBU(stream object unit), and the SOBU information is stored in a certain area of the SOBU. To detect the data stream stored in the recording medium, the SOBU including the data stream is detected by using a time map information. Then, an error correcting block including the data stream to be detected is checked by using the SOBU information stored in a certain area of the detected SOBU. And, the data stream to be detected is detected by using the starting point of the checked error correcting block.
