PURPOSE: A monitoring system is provided to enable a user to easily monitor the conditions of places such as a classroom, a sickroom and a house etc, via a personal computer when the user is in the house, and via a cellular phone when the user is out, by installing a web camcorder at a desired place. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of web camcorders(10),(1N) monitor a desired place and provide monitored pictures. An image processor(20) processes the monitored pictures from the web camcorders(10),(1N). A process controller(30) determines a condition of the place based on the processed result of the image processor(20), and outputs a signal when an abnormal condition is detected. A dialing part(40) automatically dials a predetermined phone number when it receives the signal from the controller(30). A switch station(60) receives a ring signal from a telephone set(50), and sends a signal to a base station(70). A cellular phone(80) exchanges a radio signal with the base station(70). An internet site(100) sends the pictures from the web camcorders(10),(1N) to an interface part(90). A server(110) connects the interface part(90) to a modem(120) which is connected to a personal computer in order to display the conditions of the desired place. |
