METHOD FOR MEASURING DEGRADATION OF MUD OF BLAST FURNACE IRON NOTCH

PURPOSE: A method for measuring degradation of mud of blast furnace iron notch is provided to obtain relative temperature levels of the mud using an IR camera and measure the total thickness of the mud using the temperature levels and a concentric depth. CONSTITUTION: A method for measuring degradation of mud of blast furnace iron notch comprises steps of: inserting a concentric measuring scale(11) into a center of the mud before outgoing the iron, thereby capturing images of the mud(2) using an IR camera(1); transferring the captured images through a notebook computer(3) to a desk top PC(4); aligning the images transferred to the desk top PC(4); identifying the colors of the aligned images and obtaining the temperature of respective image using a temperature table; and obtaining a relative concentric depth from the temperature to measure the degradation degree of the mud.
