PURPOSE: A forward converter having the inductor combined to transformer winding is provided to increase the possible output of power supply and to enhance the tracking between rectified output voltages generated from the corresponding second winding voltage by decreasing the impedance between the second winding and the related filter capacitor. CONSTITUTION: A forward converter having the inductor combined to transformer winding comprises a transformer(T1), an input supply voltage source(RAW B+), a switching transistor(Q1), a rectifier(DOUT2), an inductor(Lres), a capacitance(C8), two control circuit(Q2,Q3). The transformer(T1) includes the first winding(T1W1) and the second winding(T2W2). The switching transistor(Q1) applies periodically the input supply voltage to the first winding(T1W1) in response to the periodic switching control signal(VB). The rectifier(DOUT2) connects to the second winging(T2W2) and rectifies the transformer-connected voltage(VQ1) at the second winding so that generate the rectified output supply voltage(REG B+) connected to the load(303). The inductor(Lres) connects to the second winding via the first winding and restricts the variable rate of current(IDOUT2) through the rectifier(DOUT2). The capacitance(C8) connects to the inductor(Lres) and forms the resonant circuit when the transistor(Q1) turns off. The two control circuit(Q2,Q3) generates the switching control signal in response to the resonant voltage(VQ1) generated from the resonant circuit. |
