PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To load a disk by holding the disk in a disk tray almost vertically during the vertical use of a disk device, and to rotate the disk in non-contact with a structural part above the disk tray during the rotation of the disk after the loading. SOLUTION: During the vertical use of a disk device, a part of the outer periphery of a disk 4 is inserted into a pocket 4 provided in the outer periphery of the recessed part 3 of a disk tray, and the disk is loaded in a disk device main body 1 by holding the disk 4 almost in its vertical state. When the disk 4 is chucked to be rotated vertically by a disk chucking means composed of a disk table 6 and a disk clamper 8, the disk 4 is rotated in non-contact with the inner surface 14c of the pocket 14 and the disk loading surface 3a of the recessed part 3. |
