PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a printer LUT that is completely normalized which is improved in accuracy. SOLUTION: A color patch is measured at a 1st LUT interval for an important color area amount the points of the 1st LUT interval. Then all measured values are inserted to a normalized LUT and an interpolation value is inserted to grating points which are not measured in the normalized LUT to generate an LUT that is completely normalized at a 2nd LUT interval which is narrower than the 1st LUT interval. When an eccentric point is measured, that is, when a point adjacent to the normalized LUT grating is measured, an actual measured value is not inserted in the LUT grating but the interpolated value is inserted to interpolate the LUT grating so that the measured value of the eccentric point can be obtained through entry post-processing.
