PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile terminal with a computer interface which does not require reapplication of power of a facsimile main body of the facsimile terminal for initializing a LAN connection section, even if the LAN connection section hangs up. SOLUTION: When a LAN connection section 6 hangs up for some reason and transmission reception of a packet is disabled, an operator uses an operation panel section 3 to reset the LAN connection section 6. After the reset, a main system 1 stops power supply to the LAN connection section 6 and restarts power supply after a prescribed period to reset the LAN connection section 6. Or an operator uses a nearby telephone set to call the facsimile terminal and transmits a PB signal of a specific number to the facsimile terminal. According to the remote control, the main system stops power supply to the LAN connection section 6 and restarts power supply after a prescribed period to reset the LAN connection section 6.
