PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a heat quantity from an engine to a high pressure pump, namely, into a fuel circulating passage, and prevent a rise in temperature of fuel by maximizing the number and a surface of an air gap between the high pressure pump and a part of an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: A high pressure pump 1 in a common rail type injection system for feeding fuel of a diesel engine is fastened and fixed to an internal combustion engine in a flange 2 disposed on the high pressure pump 1. In this case, a plurality of cutouts 6 are formed on the flange 2 in regions of bolt passing holes 3 to 5. Accordingly, a contact surface of a joining part of the high pressure pump 1 and the internal combustion engine is contracted. A centering web 7 useful for obtaining correct centering at the time of assembling of the high pressure pump 1 is formed in the flange 2, and an annular (a ring shaped) abutting surface 9 is concentrically arranged. The annular abutting surface 9 is formed by recessing to the high pressure pump 1 side so as to prevent from abutting on the internal combustion engine.
