PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the structural cost of an apparatus for rounding and to shorten the time required for setup. SOLUTION: Rounding heads 4 and 5 are so provided that they can be moved up and down in respect to columns 6 by a working cylinder 32 and have respectively rack gears 17 which can be fixed by working cylinders 28 and stoppers 29 and rounding segments 3 which can be moved to rotate by the up - down movement of the rack gears 17 through the intermediary of drive gears 18. The rotating movement of the rounding segments 3 is checked by pressing brake pads 31 against the drive gears 18 by working cylinders 30, while canceling the fixing of the rack gears 17. Carriages 7 and 8 are provided on guide members 9 so that they can press the rounding segments 3 on a bookbinding block 1 synchronously with each other by a four-point link mechanism composed of connecting rods 40 and 41 and a link roller 43, a working cylinder 38 and a linear guide member 42. |
