PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a raw coal sampling device having small change of a sampling amount of each sampling of a raw coal and excellent reliability. SOLUTION: The raw coal sampling device comprises a scoop 18 of a tub shape for sampling raw coal C conveyed by a coal feeding mechanism 12, a scooping sampling mechanism 19 for stopping the scoop 18 at an upper side position of the mechanism 12 when non-sample, lowering the scoop 18 from an upper side position of the mechanism 18 when sampled and then scooping the coal conveyed by the mechanisms 12 by raising to an upper side position A, and a helicoidal conveyor 15 disposed at the upper side position in the state that an outer periphery near both lateral side edges of the scoop is opened when the scoop is stopped at the upper side position of the mechanism. In this case, the scoop is set at both lateral side edges in different heights so that sampled amount becomes as desired.
