PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bicycle provided with an electric motor achieving a low gravity center, a simple appearance, and a compact and high-reliability system. SOLUTION: On a crank shaft case 14 supporting a pedal crank shaft 15, a stepping force detecting means to detect stepping force added to the pedal crank shaft 15 and a car speed detecting means to detect a car speed are provided, an electric motor 22 is installed on the crank shaft case 14 to be adjacent to the pedal crank shaft 15 in a perpendicular direction to the pedal crank shaft 15, and roughly in a longitudinal direction of a car body, driving force of the electric motor 22 is controlled by a controller 24 to be without exceeding human power, and it is controlled to stop its actuation at the time of high speed.
