PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a device for processing data from sensors incorporated in an encoder and to achieve it at a low cost. SOLUTION: Sensors 15a, 15b facing scales are used in a rotary encoder. The pulse edges to be outputted from these sensors 15a, 15b are detected by edge-detecting circuits 24a, 24b and the clock counts to be generated between the edges are each counted by counters 25a, 25b. The counted values are held by registers 26a, 26b and the values held by the registers 26a, 26b are added by an adder 27. Based on the values obtained by the adder 27, a microcomputer 20 determines the drive frequency. |
