摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a propulsion device for a tubular body capable of determining the position of a front-end tubular body without error and rapidly and laying a tubular body along the planned track in a curve easily, accurately, and automatically. SOLUTION: The position measuring instrument 40 of a propulsion device P is provided with a pit side total station 41, a front-end reflector 51 disposed on a front-end tubular body 11A, prescribed number of middle total stations 46 and middle reflectors 52 disposed on a tubular body 11 between the pit side total station and the front-end reflector, and a pit reflector 53 disposed closely to the pit side total station. The controller 60 of the propulsion device uses the position measuring instrument 40 for measuring the distance to the front-end tubular body 11A by reflecting light waves from the respective total stations 41, 46 on the nearby reflectors 52, 51, 53, and controls a cluster of opening regulating jacks 12 so that the propulsion position of the front-end tubular body 11A may match the planned track data inputted in advance for laying a plurality of tubular bodies 11 in a curve.
