PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably convey sheets at decreased intervals while preventing the sheets from overlapping with each other. SOLUTION: A sheet supply device 1 comprises a sheet sucking and conveying means 106 which has a plurality of air through holes, which is movable between an air sucking means 6 sucking air from a vacuum generating means 15 and having an air sucking port 6a, and a sheet holding means 101 for holding a sheet S so that the sheet S faces the air sucking port, and which sucks up and conveys the sheet with the use of sucking air passing through the air through holes and the air sucking port by means of sucking operation of a negative pressure generating means, an auxiliary sheet sucking means 3 for jetting air to the sheet adjacent to the sheet sucking and conveying means, from one side of the sheet, and an air jetting direction changing means 22 for changing the direction of air in accordance with a flow rate of sucking air through the air sucking means. The air jet direction changing means changes the direction of jetted air so as to allow the sheet to approach the sheet sucking and conveying means when the flow rate of the sucking air through the air sucking means is high.
