PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To output a sharp, high quality image by changing the condition of sharpness emphasizing processing linked with an input means in a picture processing method executing picture processing including sharpness emphasizing processing once at least to image information inputted from an input means and outputting this image-processed image data. SOLUTION: With respect to image information inputted from an input/output means 80, sharpness emphasizing processing is given once at least by image processing part 70 and this processed image data are outputted to an output means 81. When giving sharpness emphasizing processing to image data, the part 70 varies the condition of sharpness emphasizing processing based on at least one of the inputting condition of image data inputted linked with the input means 80, the image pickup condition of image data, the kind of a film recording image data, the S/N characteristics of image data, the expanding or contracting ratio of magnifying or contracting processing, an image outputting style and an output condition.
