PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate the timing position of a received data burst by deciding the average timing position of a maximum correlation value for first N-pieces of data bursts and estimating the timing positions of respective data bursts for next M-pieces of data bursts based on the average timing position of the first N-pieces of data bursts. SOLUTION: A receiver estimates the plural timing positions of a training sequence on first N-pieces of received data bursts. The training sequences are correlated with the estimated timing positions, the timing position associated with the highest correlation value is decided and the average timing position of the highest correlation value on the first N-pieces of data bursts is decided. The receiver estimates the timing positions of the respective data bursts for the next M-pieces of data bursts based on the average timing position of the first N-pieces of data bursts.
