PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for purifying a starch sugar solution, capable of stably giving the pure sugar solution having a high purity and a good quality and scarcely containing resins. SOLUTION: This device for purifying a starch sugar solution comprises a cation tower 1 in which a strongly acidic cation exchange resin layer 101 is charged in a packed bed type and an anion tower 4 wherein a weakly basic anion exchange resin 402 is charged in a packed bed type in the lower chamber among the upper and lower chambers formed by dividing the anion tower 4 with a dividing plate 401 inhibiting the passage of resin granules and a strongly acidic anion exchange resin 403 is charged in the upper chamber in a packed bed type. Therein, the sugar solution to be purified is passed through the cation tower 1 as an downward flow in the cation tower 1, and the sugar solution is passed through the anion tower 4 as an upward flow to purify the sugar solution. The regeneration of the ion exchange resins is carried out by countercurrently flowing each regenerating agent.
