PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cord fastener which has large locking force, is satisfactory in cord inserting operability or handleability and excellent in appearance. SOLUTION: The cord fastener 1 is formed of a main body 10 having an through hole 13 for putting a cord 42 through and a locking member 20 which is incorporated to the main body 10 and is capable of engaging the cord 42 put through the hole 13 from its one opening to the other against force F in the pulling out direction of the cord. In this case, the main body 10 has a notch part 11 obtained by partially notching it corresponding to the member 20 and a receiving surface for the cord 14 formed near the hole 13. In addition, the member 20 is rotatably formed corresponding to the notch part 11 of the main body 10 and has a nearly linear teeth part 26 formed on the side of a rotating end. Then, the part 26 can be switched from a cord releasing position to a cord engaging position, where the part 26 is parallel with the surface 14, by rotation of the member 20.
