The invention relates to an operating device for displaceable cover elements such as side windows (1) in vehicles, preferably door-mounted such windows, the operating device comprising loops of a flexible pulling means, said loops extending from a drive means (5) and supporting attachments (3) which are located in the area of mutually opposing side edges of the associated cover element, which are oriented in the direction of displacement thereof, said attachments driving, as the drive means moves, the cover element along its path of displacement. According to the invention, the pulling means comprises a flat belt (4) and the drive means comprises a take-up winding system (5) for taking up the belt without lateral spreading thereof and having a rotary shaft extending transversely of the plane of motion of the cover element, direction-changing belt deflecting means (8) being arranged between the associated drive means and attachments. |
