PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an aqueous multicolor paint where spherules have a regular size distribution. SOLUTION: This aqueous multiphase dispersion for multicolor paint is produced by the following steps: (1) providing at least one emulsion paint; (2) forming a basic paint by adding both at least one linear colloid capable of being insolubilized with boric acid ions and at least one hydrophilic inorganic clay to the paint; (3) providing an aqueous medium including at least one hydrophilic inorganic clay; (4) adding the basic paint to the aqueous medium; (5) adding boric acid ions to the aqueous medium; (6) adding at least one emulsion binder to the aqueous medium.
