PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To omit an initializing operation and restrain wasteful power consumption, by issuing a command informing of the cancellation of an energy-saving mode to a recording-part control means in the case power is supplied to a recording part after the cancellation of the energy-saving mode, thereby making it recognize that a power source is on due to the energy-saving mode. SOLUTION: Control is exerted so that power is supplied to a panel control part 1, an LP control part 2, and a central control part 3 all in an ordinary mode but power is supplied to parts of the panel control part 1 and central control part 3 in an energy-saving mode. That is, right after power supply is started after an energy-saving mode is cancelled, a command informing of the cancellation of the energy-saving mode is issued from the central control part 3 to the LP control part 2. Then, when the power supply due to the cancellation of the energy-saving mode is recognized in the LP control part 2, an initializing operation is omitted, except the case of toner absence, even when power supply is started. Thus, power consumption can be decreased.
