PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a garbage treatment device capable of flatly accumulating the treated materials in its recovery vessel. SOLUTION: This garbage treatment device is provided with a treating part S for biologically decomposing garbage, a recovery part K for recovering the decomposed material and a deodorizing and exhausting part D for removing the malodor from the treating part S or recovery part K and exhausting the deodorized gas. In the constitution for conducting the treated material by a rotary agitating claw 30 furnished to a treating tank 20 to a discharge window provided in the wall of the treating tank 20 holding the garbage and used as a passage for discharging the treated material into the recovery part K, the discharge window is provided to both side edges of the tank wall 26 almost parallel to the rotating track of the claw 30 at least one each. Two discharge windows 26s, 26g are provided and one window 26s is used as the passage for the treated material when the claw 30 is rotated in the forward direction and the other window 26g as the passage for discharging the treated material when the claw is rotated in the backward direction are furnished, and a difference of attitude can be provided between the lower ends of both discharge windows 26s and 26g.
