PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly adjust the swinging sorting plates of the apparatus to a desired tilt angle conveniently in a simple way by controlling a tilting means according to the voltage delivered by a control circuit of which the voltage changes with the change in the resistance of a slide rheostat. SOLUTION: The swinging sorting plates A are tilted to a desired tilt angle by a tilting means B and are swung by a swinging means C, thus carrying out sorting. The tilt angle of the plates A is controlled by a signal from a control means D, into which a signal from a control circuit E is input. The control circuit E contains a d.c. circuit containing a slide rheostat G of which the resistance changes in response to the displacement of the plates A; thus, the signal to the control means D changes with the displacement of the plates A. Therefore, the control means D recognize the tile angle of the plates A by the output signal of the control circuit E and controls the tilting means B according to the output signal, thus setting the plates A to a desired tilt angle.
