PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust-gas purifying apparatus of a cylinder-resting engine which is capable of improving fuel consumption while maintaining capability of a catalyst in the case where respective exhaust systems are independently provided to an operating cylinder and a resting cylinder. SOLUTION: This exhaust-gas purifying apparatus of a cylinder-resting engine 1 for operating both an operating cylinder 3 and a resting cylinder 4 in an all-cylinder operating state, while resting the resting cylinder 4 in a cylinder resting state includes: an operating-cylinder exhaust system 6 for emitting an exhaust gas of the operating cylinder 3; a resting-cylinder exhaust system 9 provided independently of the operating- cylinder exhaust system 6 for emitting an exhaust gas of the resting cylinder 4; a resting-cylinder electric-heating catalyst 11 disposed in the resting-cylinder exhaust system 9; a determining means 20 for determining whether the cylinder-resting engine 1 is operated in the all-cylinder operating state or the cylinder resting state; and a heating control means 20 for controlling heating of the resting-cylinder electric- heating catalyst 11 by conducting electricity thereto when the determining means 20 has determined that the cylinder-resting engine 1 is operated in the cylinder resting state.
