PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable to act the terminal thread hook of a terminal thread- inserting device solely when it is needed and otherwise retire to a position in the vicinity of a teeth port and without interfering with knitting materials such as a thread feed port, a knitting needle, etc. SOLUTION: This terminal thread-inserting device of a flat knitting machine is constituted of a terminal thread-inserting unit containing a guide rail and a terminal thread hook, a first control unit and a second control unit which regulate the terminal thread hook to move to an arbitrary position in the X axis and Y axis directions. The terminal thread hook having a hook for engaging a migrating thread to an axial bearing part installed on a base slidably supported on the guide rail and a terminal thread presser having a pressing unit are supported to be swinging in an overlapped state. The terminal thread hook and the terminal thread presser are each connected to the second control unit to be interlocking and installed to be swinging between a retired position and a descending position, while a back and forth swinging control means for swinging the hook and the hook presser backward and forward between the terminal thread hook and the base is installed.
