PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute a high speed operation of color printing when dot patterns for forming an image of each color such as character data or graphic data are identical and in a single color. SOLUTION: When a microprocessor 3 records image data of each of colors Y, M, C on image drawing regions 21-23 as image drawing data, an identical common address is set to base address memories of memory control circuits 11-13 for plural colors of the identical dot patterns and the recording of drawing by the plural colors is executed at the same time, thereby reducing an operation time period for the drawing of the image. A gradation conversion table comprises dither pattern tables each being optimum for each color and being provided corresponding to color characteristics of a printer engine that performs the printing operation. The memory control circuits 11-13 execute gradation conversion of the image data via an image conversion means and records the image data into an image drawing region as image drawing data in a real time basis, thereby removing the gradation conversion operation from processes of the printing operation. |
