PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel cord taking-up drive system which automatically and continuously performs a series of operations such as making a spool combination go into a take up body, movement and securing of the spool combination to a head stock and a tail stock, taking up to each spool and the discharge of the spool combination finished taking-up. SOLUTION: A spool combination is put into a system body from an inlet port and is held on a bobbin lift and holding section. The bobbin lift is perpendicularly moved up by a lead screw to pull out the spool combination outsider from a pull out port. With a head stock and tail stock closely connected to the face plates on both sides of the spool combination and the spool combination rotated, an induction roller 501 for guiding a steel cord 500 is reciprocated in the right and left directions to take up the steel cord 500 around the empty spool of the spool combination. When taking-up is completed, an electrode bar 601 is made to contact with the steel cord 500 for cutting.
