PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong total combustible time by detecting adhesion state of tar to the carburetor chamber of a combustor based on the temperature thereat and performing a tar removing work conveniently through heating operation of a heater after stopping operation. SOLUTION: A combustor comprises a fuel supply means 24, a carbureting section 32 arranged with a chamber 37 for carbureting supplied fuel, a heater 42 for heating the carbureting section 32, a temperature detector 49 disposed at the section 32, a section 51 for operating the temperature at the carbureting section based on a signal received from the detector 49, a nozzle 34 for ejecting vaporized gas, a solenoid 50 for opening/closing the nozzle 34 provided with a needle valve 50b at the forward end thereof, a burner section 44 for combusting vaporized gas, and a section 57 for controlling the combustion operation based on a signal from an operating section 56. Upon delivery of an operation stop signal from the operating section 56, the section 57 controls heating operation of the heater 42 according to a specified sequence based on the temperature at the carbureting section 32.
