PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating material which can be baked at a low temperature, has an excellent storage stability, and gives a good appearance in the coated film, and provide a coating process therefor. SOLUTION: This one-pack thermosetting coating material comprising (A) an active hydrogen group-containing resin, (B) a blocked isocyanate consisting of (B1) a polyisocyanate and (B2) a blocking agent, and (C) a catalyst, is characterized in that the component (B1) contains a moiety of (b1) an aliphatic diisocyanate, a moiety of (b2) a glycol having a side chain and a mol.wt. of 500 or less, an isocyanurate group and a urethane group, and the component (B1) has a (b2) content of 0.5-15.0 mass %, the component (B2) contains 3,5- dimethyl pyrazole; a mole ratio of an active hydrogen group (AH) of (B2) to an isocyanate group (NCO) of (B1) is as follows: 1.15<=AH/NCO<=4.00, and the adding amount of the component (C) is 2.0 mass % or less relative to the total amount of (A) and (B). In addition, a coating process comprises baking the one-pack thermosetting coating material at 90-140 deg.C.
