PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new polynucleotide having a high homology to a nucleic acid encoding an acytransferease polypeptide consisting of specific amino acids and useful for the diagnosis, treatment, or the like, of diseases associated with a substrate or product of the above enzyme. SOLUTION: This gene is a gene encoding a new acyltransferase (LPAAT) selected from the group consisting of a polynucleotide having at least 70% homology to a polynucleotide encoding a polypeptide consisting of amino acids of the formula, a polynucleotide having an overlap with the gene code encoding the amino acids of the formula, a complemental polynucleotide with the above polynucleotides, and polynucleotide consisting of at least 15 continuous bases among them, and useful for the diagnosis, treatment, or the like, of diseases associated with a substrate or product of the above enzyme. The polynucleotide is obtained by screening a human cDNA library with a probe synthesized from a publicly known sequence of the LPPAT gene. |
